Which product is right for me?
What is couperosis? The word "couperose" comes from the French and means "copper rose". Couperosis describes the genetically determined dilation of small blood vessels (e.g. capillaries) on the surface of the skin. Typical of couperosis are visible veins and diffuse redness of the skin. The redness usually goes away at first, but if the couperosis is more severe, the redness can be permanent. Most of the time, couperosis can be recognised by red cheeks or redness on the sides of the nose. Affected people often complain of very sensitive or dry skin that hurts or itches. If inflammation also occurs, this is called rosacea.
Skin care for couperosis It does not necessarily have to be an expensive laser treatment for couperose. With the right skin care, i.e. with care products specially developed for couperosis, the appearance of couperosis can be positively influenced. Products for couperose should especially moisturise and support the usually damaged skin barrier. Soothing ingredients do the skin good, make it more resistant and provide an immediate feeling of well-being.

What is the difference between couperosis and rosacea? The difference between couperosis and rosacea is not easy to define, as they share the same symptoms: fine veins and reddened skin on the face, especially around the nose and on the cheeks. However, unlike couperosis, rosacea is an inflammatory and pathological damage of the skin. It is believed that couperosis is a precursor of rosacea.
What is the cause of couperose? Often women over 30 with a fair skin type are affected by couperosis. In addition to a mostly genetic predisposition, external factors such as environmental influences or diet can also promote couperosis. These external factors can influence couperosis:
  • UV radiation
  • Sauna visits and steam baths
  • Rough peels
  • Severe temperature changes
  • Spicy foods
  • Hot drinks
  • Caffeinated drinks
  • Alcohol
  • Nicotine
