The DOCTOR BABOR RESURFACE Renewal Toner, the further development of the Retinol Smoothing Toner, hydrates the skin through the addition of polyglutamic acid and smooths the skin's surface. Innovative vitamin A, modified by a highly effective complex of biotechnologically derived hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, also supports natural skin regeneration and gently refines the skin's texture. Pores are tightened, the skin is comprehensively cared for, and prepared for the absorption of other nourishing active ingredients.

100% vegan and free of silicones, parabens, mineral oils, PEGs, microplastics, and other unnecessary ingredients, the Renewal Toner was developed and perfected by BABOR experts in the company's own laboratories in Aachen, Germany, according to the ambitious BABOR guidelines for "clean" formulas. Key Active Ingredients The innovative active ingredient combination of low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid and retinol penetrates deeper skin layers and is very skin-friendly. This highly effective molecule stimulates the production of collagen and fibronectin, thereby reducing wrinkles and improving tissue density and skin texture. In addition, the skin is intensively moisturized and protected against transepidermal water loss. This active ingredient combination balances sebum production and minimizes the number and size of pores.

The product contains polyglutamic acid (0.5%), also known as PGA, a natural polymer obtained through a biotechnological process by fermenting soybeans. It is characterized by its exceptional effect as a humectant in the skin. Polyglutamic acid forms a protective film on the skin's surface to minimize moisture loss and increase the skin's ability to retain moisture (depot effect). Scientific studies have shown that these water-binding properties allow PGA to retain up to four times more moisture than hyaluronic acid. This makes the skin appear instantly smoother and more elastic. Furthermore, PGA can inhibit the activity of the enzyme hyaluronidase, which reduces the natural hyaluronic acid content, thus stabilizing and increasing the hyaluronic acid content in the skin. The combination of both active ingredients therefore exhibits a synergistic moisturizing effect. Additionally, PGA stimulates natural moisturizing factors (NMFs) and increases their production, thus improving the skin's own hyaluronic acid synthesis.
